At Sauris di Sopra (the upper part of the village),
in an outbuilding decked out as a cattleshed and barn, reconstructed with the original architectural
features, is the Centre for Ethnographic Studies or 's haus van der Zahre.
The Centre is dedicated to research into and rediscovery of the local culture and organizes
dedicated exhibitions (the Carnival, crafts, clothing, local beliefs, the history of the woodlands,
roads and transport) and the publication of specialised literature about the area.
Currently in preparation, in the rectory of Sauris di Sotto (the lower part of the village),
and annexed to the town library, is the Centre for Historiographical Studies which will house
the precious heritage of the nearby church of St. Oswald (vestments and church plate, documents)
and provide the visitor with information about the origins, the economic and social history
and the language of the community of Sauris.
