Farm holidays
The exhilarating beauty of the Sauris valley, the genuine hospitality of the people,
the fact that this is a family run business and that they take care to maintain the
traditions of the local cuisine make "Agriturismo Monte Ruke" a place not to be missed.
Here you can sample all the local Sauris specialities at a price suited to everyone's pocket:
our grappa (a kind of brandy) with herbs, mushrooms, polenta (savoury maize porridge),
frico (crispy cheese pancakes) and sliced cold meats, sweets and desserts.

History
Built in stone and logs, the Agriturismo Monte Ruke dates back to the middle of the 19th
century when it was used mainly as a hayloft.
From the beginning of the 20th century Calistro Petris and later his son Virginio,
used the building for traditional activities such as the gathering of hay, breeding of
cattle and the storage of firewood cut and gathered locally.
Since 1990, Derna Petris, the daughter of Virginio, an expert chef and connoisseur of herbs
and mushrooms, working together with her husband and daughters who share her passion for
typical local dishes, has used the old building for farm holidays.
In 2001, the building was completely restored by the son who has followed the work down
to the smallest detail, creating a wonderful expression of local architectural tradition. |
How to find us
To reach "Monte Ruke" follow the signposts when you leave Sauris di Sopra.
Many people drive here but we recommend the brief relaxing walk, little more than 1 km.,
through a wood of pine and beech trees.
The path is practically all on level ground.
